These Baked Apple Fritters with Glaze are a lighter alternative to the traditional fried version. They combine tender apple chunks, warm spices, and a sweet glaze for a comforting treat perfect for breakfast, dessert, or snacking.

  • Total Time: 33 minutes
  • Yield: 12 fritters 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium firm apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (Alcohol-Free)

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 12 teaspoons water (adjust for consistency)

Instructions

  • Peel, core, and dice apples into small chunks. Toss with a little cinnamon and sugar; set aside.

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar until well combined.

  • In another bowl, beat the egg, then mix in milk and Vanilla Extract (Alcohol-Free).

  • Pour wet mixture into dry mixture. Stir gently until combined.

  • Fold in diced apples carefully without overmixing.

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto it, leaving space between each.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes until golden and set.

  • While baking, whisk powdered sugar, lemon juice, and water until smooth for the glaze.

  • Allow fritters to cool slightly. Drizzle glaze over the warm fritters before serving.

Notes

  • Use firm apples for the best texture.

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep fritters tender.

  • Adjust glaze thickness with more sugar or water as needed.
