Ingredients
-
13.8 oz tube refrigerated pizza dough
-
3 black olives
-
Small piece of red bell pepper
-
2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing)
-
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
-
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Slice black olives into small pieces for the eyes and red bell pepper into forked strips for the tongues. Set aside.
-
Unroll the refrigerated pizza dough and cut into 12 long strips.
-
Roll each strip into a 12-inch rope, taper one end for the tail, and flatten the other for the head.
-
Wrap each dough rope in a spiral around a greased chopstick or metal straw.
-
Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with poppy or sesame seeds.
-
Press two olive pieces on the head for eyes.
-
Bake on parchment-lined sheets for 11–15 minutes, until golden brown.
-
Cool for 3 minutes, then remove from sticks carefully.
-
While still warm, use a toothpick to make a small hole at the head and insert a red pepper forked tongue.
-
Serve warm with dips like marinara, garlic butter, or cheese sauce.
Notes
-
Use whole wheat pizza dough for a healthier version.
-
For added flavor, brush baked snakes with garlic butter.
-
To store, keep in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for longer freshness.
