These grilled garlic green beans are a quick, flavorful side dish made with simple ingredients like olive oil, fresh garlic, and lemon juice. Lightly charred and topped with freshly grated Parmesan, they’re crisp, savory, and perfect for any meal.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 6

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz fresh green beans (trimmed, cut, and washed)

  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper

  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (to taste)

Instructions

  • Trim the ends of the green beans and rinse them thoroughly.

  • In a large sealable plastic bag or container, combine green beans, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat. Let marinate for 10 minutes.

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat (375°F–400°F).

  • Transfer green beans to a grill basket and place on the grill. Close the lid and cook for 3–5 minutes.

  • Open the lid and turn beans frequently until crisp and slightly charred, about 7–10 more minutes.

  • Remove from the grill, place in a bowl, top with grated Parmesan, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free option, omit Parmesan or use a vegan substitute.

  • Optional: Add chili flakes for extra heat.

  • Oven alternative: Roast at 400°F for 15–20 minutes, flipping once.
