- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 large eggs, at room temperature
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- For the Caramel Glaze: 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream, warmed
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- 2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- 3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined.
- 4. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 5. For the caramel glaze, melt granulated sugar over medium heat until golden brown. Carefully stir in warmed heavy cream until smooth.
- 6. Once cooled slightly, drizzle warm caramel glaze over the cake before serving.
