  • 4 cups low-sodium beef broth

Instructions

  1. Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the roast on all sides until browned.

  3. Pour in enough beef broth to cover three-quarters of the roast.
  4. Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
  5. Remove the roast, shred it with two forks, and lightly toast the French rolls.
  6. Assemble sandwiches by filling each roll with shredded beef, topping with provolone cheese, and serving with warm broth for dipping.
