Ingredients
-
1 cup / 240 ml / 8 fl oz milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy)
-
1/4 cup / 50 g / 1.7 oz pumpkin puree or canned pumpkin
-
1 tbsp clear honey (or maple syrup)
-
1/4 to 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
-
dollop of whipped cream
-
pinch of pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
-
Add the milk, pumpkin puree, honey, and pumpkin pie spice into a blender. Then blend until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. Alternatively, place all ingredients into a large jar and blend using an immersion blender until fully combined.
-
To prepare a warm version, pour the blended mixture into a small saucepan. Then heat over medium-high heat, whisking constantly until warm and steaming. Avoid boiling to preserve a silky texture.
-
Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or spice if needed. Add more honey for extra sweetness or a pinch more pumpkin spice for a stronger fall flavor.
-
Pour the finished pumpkin milk into a mug or glass. Then add a dollop of whipped cream on top, and sprinkle with a small pinch of pumpkin spice.
-
Serve immediately and enjoy warm or cold.
Notes
-
For a dairy-free version, use oat milk or almond milk.
-
Adjust the spice level to your taste.
-
Whisk continuously when heating to keep the mixture smooth.
-
Blend again before serving if making ahead, since pumpkin may settle.
